In a move aimed at enhancing accessibility for pilgrims visiting the revered Badrinath Dham, the Uttarakhand government has proposed launching a shuttle helicopter service to ease travel during the Char Dham Yatra season.
The proposed service is expected to operate between Gauchar and Badrinath, offering swift and safe transportation for devotees, especially senior citizens and those unable to undertake long, difficult road journeys. Officials from the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) have confirmed that a formal proposal has been submitted to the Central Government, seeking necessary approvals.
The shuttle service is designed to reduce travel time significantly, ensuring pilgrims can comfortably complete their journey while enjoying scenic aerial views of the Himalayas.
