Air India’s Delhi-bound Flight AI315 was forced to return to Hong Kong mid-flight on June 16 after a suspected technical issue was detected.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner landed safely back in Hong Kong around 1 PM local time, and all passengers disembarked without incident. According to reports, the issue involved a potential instrument failure, prompting the crew to act out of caution.
The aircraft is undergoing inspection, and alternative travel arrangements are being made for passengers.
This comes just days after the tragic AI171 crash in Ahmedabad, heightening scrutiny of aircraft safety protocols.
